I couldn't agree more with the position on Musk and the Royal Society laid out in this excellent post by @scurry.bsky.social. What continues to dismay folks like Stephen and @deevybee.bsky.social & me is that the RS seems unwilling to speak to *this* case...

Two things are clear about the shift from X, which was without doubt academia's biggest public platform:

Many are still hanging on to a toxic platform, that skews engagement.

Some who set up elsewhere, didn't do a good job.
