People a block over were throwing out their metal flamingos. We took them, got a flamingo hat from Spirit Halloween, and had our 12 ft skeleton start a flock.

Last chance to turn it off.

On Monday, November 3rd, Microsoft will start using your LinkedIn data for AI training. And remember, you're opted in by default.

To toggle it off 👉 Account - Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Data for Generative AI Improvement.
If you use the new Affinity, you may also want to go to your profile on Canva and turn off a variety of settings so that they don't train AI with your usage:

and

They've announced that Affinity is now free, except for generative AI tools which are walled behind a Canva subscription. Which seems really good:

Like "You can eat anything from the garden, but if you'd like to sample the wares from underneath the outhouse... that'll cost ya"
Affinity (which offers alternatives to photoshop and indesign) has turned off the ability to buy their software on their website.

They're touting some big reveal at the end of the month, though shutting off sales of their product for a month is... an interesting choice.
oh certainly, I don't trust any tech company to not suddenly be like "we've secretly been monitoring your habits, and will kick you in the head when the algorithm says you won't expect it."

But at least the head-kicking hasn't happened yet, which is what I expected when they shut down the store.

Warhammer dwarf gyrocopter I painted when I was a teenager.

I wanted it to look very scrapped-together, so I mixed a metallic silver with different colors to make the metal parts different. The wood is actually primarily a flesh wash so it would go into the texture lines of the wood.

"But when the team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20% slower when using AI than when working without it. Researchers were stunned. “No one expected that outcome. We didn’t even really consider a slowdown as a possibility.”

This is at a restaurant we went to last night. Literally all claw machines in the "video" game room. My disappointment was immeasurable, etc.
"Remember to get the functional water. Last time you brought home non-functional water and we couldn't use it for anything."

I like looking at basic emoji and trying to figure out what made them decide that a specific thing was a core concept that deserved an emote.

Like slightly different magnifying glasses?
