This article is about video games, but I suspect tabletop games would skew similarly

"Lords of Vegas" has some of the feel of Acquire - but with more push-and-pull using targeted aggression, and dice.

"Eternal Decks" is a co-op with a very lightly applied theme but an interesting aesthetic.

Play cards to accomplish goals (including adding cards to your deck). Someone can't make a legal play or ran out of cards = game over. You can communicate where you can play, but not what's in your hand.

"Hot Streak". Bet on racers, which move based on a shared deck that everyone adds cards to.

The minis are very nice, which adds to the spectacle.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

This was good - mostly cinnamon flavor with a teensy tiny bit of fruit flavor.

History of the World (Z-Man edition).

I could definitely see Vinci/Small World evolving from this. Each round you draft a new civ and an ability (or smaller additional civ), use them to cut a swathe through existing ones, then score points. You need to be ok with the impermanence of your actions.

Interesting thread and linked article.
Two weeks ago I said that there were likely millions of uninstalled Blackwell GPUs sitting in warehouses as there is neither the data center capacity nor the power to turn them on. Michael Burry is looking into it and it looks like he’s got evidence I’m right.

The "board" in board games is the table. They are games played on a table.

This is also where "room and board" comes from, you get a room and a seat at the table (for food).

And also "above board". A deal that is above board was made above the table, rather than a sneaky deal below the table.
