Have safely left Uganda & feel immeasurably relieved. Almost everything gay there is illegal. Every HIV outreach risks imprisonment. Every meeting we had was against the law & could’ve been raided. The threat of & actual extortion was constant. Dealt w police more in a month than in 48 yrs combined.
