if you feel it's messing you up, step away. don't assume it's messing everyone up and you need to eradicate it because you caught a case of the feel-bads from something. go sit with that and think about why instead of pissing in everyone else's cheerios.

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

every month i conveniently forget periods are a thing and wonder why my mood is so volatile in the days leading up to it (or any number of other symptoms i regularly get, including flu-like) so like, it's not that unbelievable to me that they wouldn't think "oh it's my heat" lol
