Colleen Jones asked me to interview her a couple of months ago during a chemotherapy appointment.

She told me to write one heck of a story. I hope I did her proud.

About always believing something wonderful is about to happen.

Using the voters list as a political weapon against a constituent feels like perfectly reasonable grounds for a recall to me.
Dale Nally's recall petitioner says he doesn't listen to constituents and cites his concerns over the notwithstanding clause.

Nally responds by saying the petitioner doesn't vote and works as a proxy for a group weaponizing the recall act and the petition has no merit.

Let’s be clear on this: Danielle Smith is ripping up the Charter of Rights & Freedoms to take away rights from the most vulnerable people in Alberta. And she’s doing it to protect herself from the militant wing of her own party, nothing more. Hope it’s all she’s ever remembered for in the long run

The first (and until today only) time Alberta invoked the notwithstanding clause - in 1998
- the public outcry was so great that Premier Ralph Klein reversed his decision in less than 24 hours. FWIW.
The UCP government has invoked time allocation and on a bill removing Albertans' Charter rights.

And they're using the notwithstanding clause to do it.

Here's why that is a dangerous precedent. And why real conservatives need to stand up against it.

Where's the premier while MLAs rush through an all-night debate on stripping Albertans of their Charter rights?

An airport lounge, waiting for a flight to Saudi Arabia. She didn't even bother to show up for the vote.

I remember when conservatives turfed premiers for this level of hubris.
