Hi #Knitsky. Has anyone found a fitness tracker that doesn't count knitting as steps? I hate having to take off my Fitbit every time I pick up my knitting. And I usually forget to put it back on🙃 I know you can edit out steps afterwards but that's too much faff. Any suggestions for a better device?

Some baby/child cardigans for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits. Nothing very fancy 🧶

This week for #ShowMeYourKnits the theme is HOLIDAY coloured or themed knits. I don't do much festive knitting but a few years ago I knitted a skirt for the tree and this year a couple of throws for our footstools. All in cotton DK. 🧶

A reminder to dispose of your plastics properly!

Plastic is a nightmare for wildlife. This carefully curated Blackbird nest was found with plastic packaging material running through it. It's hard to see at first - imagine how tricky this is for a Blackbird.

Am I the only one checking my stash and WIPs thinking about what nice things I can knit over the festive break? I'm planning to pick up the lovely lacy slipover (1), make myself some bedsocks from the Pato and use some leftover yarn to make one of the cabled cowls. #Knitsky 🧶

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

Work in progress for #ShowMeYourKnits this week. A variety as usual. 1. waiting for weaving in and blocking, a shawl from oddments. 2. a Yule footstool blanket in cotton. 3. the beginning of a waistcoat. 4. a cable cowl. Not shown, for travel & knitting and chatting a scarf & 2 hats!

Knitting again the lovely peacock feather shawl by Lyudmila Aksenik. I’ve previously done it to use up leftover yarn, but this time I treated myself to Malabrigo Arroyo 🧶

Yesterday I got 2 projects off the needles and another one is close to done, so it’s time to look at my stash and choose what to knit next. I think it’ll be these 2 with a bit of pattern but not too complicated. 1 will be in the yarn 🧶 shown (rare for me) and 2 the yarn in pic 3. Exciting!

Hats for #ShowMeYourKnits this week. I mostly knit very simple hats to use up leftover 🧶 yarn and they mainly go to charity. Sometimes there’s a baby hat.

I don’t really have any spooky knitting for this week’s #ShowMeYourKnits but I do have a black cat! 🧶 And she is often found with my knitted objects 😊

Today I'm trying knitting on DPNs for the first time. Fortunately there are lots of great resources online to help me. But wish me luck #knitsky friends 🤞🧶

Something for #FOFriday on #Knitsky 🧶 I had forgotten how tiny first size cardigans are!

I don't have much to show for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits because I don't really knit socks. I do however sometimes use up oddments making myself bedsocks (no heel, just like popsox but in DK) 🧶

This week for #ShowMeYourKnits it's knitting that brings us joy or that we knit to care. I get immense joy seeing the things I knit being worn by friends, family and their little ones. I don't like to share photos of other people and kids, so here are a few knits that were well received by cats 😻🧶

So this week for #ShowMeYourKnits it’s Autumn-themed knits. The best I can offer are these in Autumnal colours. 🧶
