Hi @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social - would you please consider signing this pledge arising out of the recent inaugural High-Level Side Event on Healthy Indoor Air, taking place on the margins of the UN General Assembly?

Not read much on effective mask wearing then?

Let's just take a moment to enjoy the fact that @dailymail.co.uk's poll backfired on them yesterday.
They wrote a misleading article about Violet Affleck's speech at the UN (she didn't call for a mask mandate), and expected their readers to say 'no' to masks in healthcare.
75% said YES.
Love it👏

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Any chance of you covering this? It would make us all a lot less sick, and the number of people who die from being infected with Covid WHILE IN HOSPITAL would go down. Currently, 1 in 10 of those infected with covid in hospital die. Which seems important.

🚨NEW REPORT🚨
Huge increase in UK sickness absence.
The Health & Wellbeing Report 2025 found we now have record levels of sickness. Now 9.4 days per employee.
What happened in 2020?
A 35 page long report: guess what it doesn't mention as an ongoing cause of employee sickness?

This is Violet’s actual speech. Obvs, it’s not about mask mandates at all. That’s just the Daily Fail trying to put their dreadful spin on it. bsky.app/profile/luck...

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!

Can @ukhsa.bsky.social @departmentforedu.bsky.social look at this graph please?

Quality of life for chn with Chronic Health Conditions (CHC) compared with chn with Paediatric Long Covid (PLC)

The QoL for @longcovidkids.bsky.social is MUCH WORSE than chn suffering with other chronic conditions

Regular listener here :)
When you get a spare hour, can you please pull this report to pieces?
It is beyond a joke that these reports are churned out which gloss over the ongoing impact of the ongoing global pandemic! 🤯

Oh, and guess which workers ARE NOT off sick more?
🥁
Those working from home 🤷‍♀️

'Over a third (36%) of organisations with employees working from home say that sickness absence rates have decreased as a consequence,'

Why are we all being so stupid?

RECORD levels of sickness. Guess what they don't mention? Look at the graph! It is absurd that this whole report won't say it out loud. More ppl are sick (short and long term).
Apart from the homeworkers!

Shall we all just stop pretending that Covid isn't making us a lot sicker?
Reminds me of the totally inexplicable 'attendance crisis' in schools (since 2020)
And the huge numbers of ppl suddenly retiring early (since 2020).

@SimplyhealthUK (who wrote the report) say on their website that 'Mental ill health is a leading cause of long and short-term leave' BUT, their info graphic in their report says the main cause of ST term leave is 'Minor illness' (78%) and there are multiple reasons for LT absence:

It is useful.
But of course, most are not testing anymore for Covid, so won't be able to answer if they have ongoing symptoms 12 weeks after their Covid infection.
Nor do people (including majority of Drs) know what 'Long Covid' includes, so are unlikely to say 'yes'.
Where did public health go?
annemarie1.bsky.social
It was a nonsensical, fumbled mess. These people are in charge.

I called @lbc.co.uk to ask Children's Commissioner Rachel De Souza if she has listened to @longcovidkids.bsky.social
Does she have have any idea how traumatising it is for a child to be forced into classrooms with ppl who HAVE Covid, when Covid already ruined their childhood?
She is NOT listening.
