Chemo round #2 tomorrow so I’m back at my mom’s for the week. Hoping it continues to be tolerable for her. The worst part is she has to bring a pump home with her for a 46 hour infusion then back to the hospital to disconnect it. I offered to learn to do it and save the trip but she refuses.

I’m getting a new car today which would be very exciting if it weren’t SO much more expensive (a 38% increase even with my family A plan) and it was the one I wanted (the one I’ve been driving and love, an Edge, has been discontinued).

Time for another review of the REAL #TrumpInflationCrisis. I compared prices on Biden's last day in office versus 12/9/25 prices under Trump's ecomonic "genius". My standard Kroger "cart" is up 10%+. These items are jacked up the most, often accompanied by shrinkflation. Are we winning yet?

I went out and put up about 50% of my regular outdoor holiday decorations (I don’t have the energy for any more) and even tho its only in the 20s I felt totally fine while I was outside but now, inside, I have never felt colder in my goddamn life. I just took a hot shower and I’m still freezing.

Mom started chemo today. She unfortunately wasn’t selected for the trial drug (random selection) so she’ll be getting the standard care instead. But the good news is her liver labs have significantly improved on their own so the dr is feeling optimistic about her body’s ability to fight this shit. 🤞

Managed to get the Christmas decorations and tree out of the storage unit before the snow got too bad. I was only going to do a little bit I brought everything anyway. I truly am a glutton for punishment.

The “Wheels of a Dream” performance from Ragtime hit a little different this year. It’s a number that always makes me emotional but whew.
Lots of multinational floats and music and dancing during this Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and wondering if this NBC making a subtle commentary on what makes America great (immigrants) and/or a rebuke of Trumpian cruelty.

My biggest tip for pumpkin pie is roasting your canned pumpkin in the oven at 425 for about 15 minutes to concentrate the flavor. It’ll cook off a lot of liquid and lose volume so make sure you roast more than you’ll need for the pie. #bakingsky #baking

Bc of everything going on I outsourced most of the Thanksgiving pies for the first time in over a decade (though I still am making the pumpkin). I guess it will be nice not to stay up until 3am tonight fussing over dough but I will miss the satisfaction of a really pretty final product.
