Seattle-ish. She/her/hers. It’s anti, not auntie (but I’m not anti-OTHER Angies). I like nerdery. Cultivating an obsession with dahlias.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, just introduced a bill to ban Americans from holding dual citizenship. The bill says that to “preserve the integrity of national citizenship, allegiance to the United States must be undivided.” It’s called the Exclusive Citizenship Act.

BRB booking a trip to London
Just saw My Neighbour Totoro stage show in London, and it’s absolutely astonishing — magical, spectacular, funny, devastatingly emotional, and wonderfully innovative. If you love the film, or just love live theatre, it’s a must watch

Posts from my COVID Confinement: I started watching Pluribus and at first I was kind of ehhh on it and now I am VERY INTO IT. Best to go in knowing nothing, I think.

There is probably no good time to break your no-COVID streak, but two days before hosting Thanksgiving for 14 people is DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD TIME.

(We cancelled. Obv.)

I…don’t know about this. Also note the emphasis by researchers that humans should still be involved as much as possible. www.forbes.com/sites/michae...
How Much Power Should We Give AI In End-Of-Life Decisions?
AI predictions are set to become part of end-of-life care decisions, but what role they’ll play in relation to humans and our values remains a wide-open question.

In 2013 we moved into this house and a few months later we had this crazy idea to invite all of our neighbors to a holiday open house so we could meet them. We printed out invitations and walked around the neighborhood to hand them out and people came! So we kept doing it, every year.

NEW OTTER YAAAAAYYYY
For over 30 years, the Seattle Aquarium has led in sea otter research, contributed to recovery efforts and cared for northern sea otters who are unable to live in the wild.

Today is a big day as we welcome Ruby—the first southern sea otter in our care. ✨🦦

Our big apple tree was super-productive this year—way more than we could ever possibly consume. I talked to someone at our little local food bank to see if they take homegrown fruit, and they do! So I brought over what ended up being a shopping cart full of apples.

Breaking from us:

As the Trump administration searches for more space to detain immigrants, it is approaching Washington tribes to see if they will participate.

Nisqually Indian Tribe is saying no.

Don’t cross the picket line, folks. Plenty of other places to get your latte.
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Saw David Byrne in concert tonight and man, what a great show. Kooky and kinetic and dynamic, and a great mix of old and new music. Highly recommend if you have the opportunity.

I keep seeing this come by in my feed and thinking that that man has never once in his entire life thought of someone other than himself. Not once. Utterly incapable of even performative empathy.
incredible photo that's definitely worth at least 1,000 words from Andrew Harnik of Getty
