Former journalist, current media relations person in Tacoma. I take a lot of photos and read a lot and used to care a lot more about sports than I do these days.

New year, new books read thread. I only read 27 books in 2024 and would like to get that number to 40 this year.

She was first in her family to go to college.

She’d been in the U.S. since she was seven.

They grabbed at the airport on her way to surprise her family for thanksgiving.

They put her in shackles. Her ankles, her arms, and her waist.

Imagine putting up a flag in your yard that says you support ICE. I wish nothing but the worst for this household. This is in Puyallup, obviously.

Every Sounders fan should be supporting this site. Great coverage that isn't afraid to be critical of the team.
We’re running a Black Friday deal that is good through Dec. 1. We’re offering 20% off our two most popular membership plans:

- Supporter (normally $75): sounderatheartcom.outpost.pub/public/promo...
- Backer (normally $30): sounderatheartcom.outpost.pub/public/promo...

One of the toughest things about being a former journalist is watching all the garbage people and shitty hacks who *didn't* get forced out by horrific salaries and repeated layoffs go ahead and destroy whatever remains of the industry's credibility. This is a Nuzzi tweet.

Now that I'm an Amazon delivery driver (gotta get that paper, yo), I have to say 103.7, which is old school rap, has commercial free Fridays and it is incredible.

A few months ago, Cristian Roldan believed his USMNT career was drifting away. Now he could be in line for a key role under Mauricio Pochettino.

If you turned 50 Raleigh outs into hits, he'd still have a lower AVG than Judge's .331

Flip 68 Raleigh outs into times on base and his OBP would still be lower than Judge's .457

Josh Naylor was great (.490 SLG), Raleigh outslugged him by 99 points (.589), Judge outslugged Raleigh by 99 (.688)
Cal Raleigh had an exceptional year. Good for MVP in a great many seasons. In my view, this wasn't particularly close though. Judge is doing absolute freak shit at the plate, but he's been doing it so consistently that it doesn't feel that crazy anymore. Which is nuts!

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

NYT: but her emails
Landon Thomas Jr of the New York Times got told by Jeffrey Epstein that Trump walked into a glass door bc he was so busy staring at girls in Epstein's house and didn't print it. wild that the Times didn't consider that newsworthy.

When I think about how the New York Times has treated the transgender community and my friend @carlyjdubois.com -- and then I read about their reporters getting caught soliciting donations from Epstein and still communicating with Epstein in 2017 -- it makes me boiling mad.

This is certainly not my best work (should have brought my tripod and gotten to the park earlier), but seeing the Northern Lights is always incredible.

If you are in the Puget Sound area, the Northern Lights are popping right now. I just took this with my phone on the middle of Tacoma with tons of light pollution.

Tacoma may continue to vote in Dem moderates (or Republicans) who underwhelm, but at least Seattle is taking the progressive option.
Katie Wilson is now almost certainly Seattle's 58th mayor. We spoke just now: "We’re going to wait for all of the ballots to be counted, but I think we won this race." www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

That was one of the greatest collapses in the history of sports by the Sounders. Up 2-0 in the eighth minute, up a man and a goal in the 41st minute, had to tie it in the 88th, miss four penalties - including two that would have won the game.
