Surprised (not surprised) in a Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy search for Hypatia (philosopher/mathematician) in the 14 pages of results there is only one result on page 10 for the actual person (not journal/book titles refs). And that’s to use her murder as context of an ancient bloke’s plight.

I'm looking for suggestions of what to cover in a special series of interviews when I reach my 500th podcast episode: things I should have covered in past series, but missed out!

More explanation here:

Request for ideas: episode 500! | History of Philosophy without any gaps
As you might have noticed I am coming up on episode 500 of the podcast (to air in autumn 2026 or so), and my plan is to celebrate this by doing several (probably five) interviews covering topics that ...

Playtimers braved the weather to make a truly great session. We ranged from propositional truth to individual truths, exploring if truth resides in objects or our minds, or some combo; its relation with beliefs, judgements, values; are there absolutes or transient truths, & what’s the difference?
#PHILOSOPHY PLAYTIME!
This week we play with the idea ‘what is truth?’

18.30-20.00, Wednesday 21 January at EH9|Espresso, 248/250 Perth Rd, DD1 4LL, #Dundee
£6 cash on door, complimentary (decaf) coffee

Our next piece was pegged to March, though now it's looking more like April, because I don't have the finances to cover essential materials. If you have any of your own resources to spare, would you consider a paid subscription? Even one month would go a long way. Thanks. buttondown.com/TYFYFL
New from @fractalecho.bsky.social and me. Our piece focuses on one person and organization, but it's about a seedy grift that permeates disability inclusion, in which those who aspire to “be the only” emulate those whose power they worship. buttondown.com/TYFYFL/archi...

Very Jolly start to 2026. Our play oscillated between two jollies, ie unreflective/enforced & meaningful/resistance, when wondering about how being jolly relates to flourishing, is it a disposition/skill/both?
Concluded that we all have our own season to be jolly, filled with meaning and community.
#PHILOSOPHY PLAYTIME! is back this week!
We start 2026 playing with the (reflective) idea ‘when is the season to be jolly?’
