This is state-sanctioned erasure disguised as public input.
This administration is handing our shared history to the same political forces undermining vaccine science and public trust. It's setting the stage to knowingly repeat the same injustices it wants to deny. We must fight back, loudly.

National Park signage encourages the public to help erase negative stories at its sites

The Department of the Interior is requiring the National Park Service to post signage nationwide by June 13, asking visitors for feedback on any information they feel misrepresents American history.

Forty years ago today, three Chicago-area kids skipped high school and decided to go to a Cubs game.

Although Ferris Bueller’s Day Off came out in 1986, the scene at Wrigley Field was from a game on June 5, 1985, with Lee Smith on the mound.

An oldie that was partly inspired by a conversation with the great birder Laura Erickson. The name Bufflehead actually comes from the buffalo.

A comic titled Misheard Birds of North America. There's a ruffled grouse wearing ruffles, ribbons, and pearls. There's a pleated woodpecker wearing a pleated collar and skirt. There's a morning dove sitting on a coffee cup that says MONDAYS CAN KISS MY CLOACA. There's a greater and lesser scope, part duck part scope, with the lesser scope shorter. Finally, there's a buffalohead, a bufflehead with the head of a buffalo.

ICYMI: Trump fired all of the historians who help keep the Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) series transparent and apolitical. The oversight committee is now vacant. FRUS has documented U.S. foreign policy since Lincoln. It needs independent watchdogs. archive.is/1iC5i

These historians oversee unbiased accounts of U.S. foreign policy. Trump fired them all.

An advisory committee of historians helps ensure the record of America’s history remains unbiased, transparent and thorough. Trump just fired the entire panel.
