Decided to expand on this information sheet I made for myself during artfight last year. Welcome to my biology class 🧜‍♀️
#Art
A digital concept art illustration depicting several angles of Mermaid Aze's body, including details about the biology, physical traits and abilities of
realistic mermaids. A section of the sheet is dedicated to depicting Azure in clothes mostly inspired by her Sea of Thieves character's outfit: a wrap of purple cloth over a seashell top and a skirt made of striped purple cloth and torn fishing net, attached by a leather belt from the back of which a weapon holster hangs, with a hook necklace and a short blue open jacket over it all.

I can now share the "Jurassic Scrub" plants I designed/reconstructed for Prehistoric Kingdom!
Scientific diagram of a Jurassic Araucaria, based mostly on Araucaria delevoryasii from the Morrison Formation. Reconstruction/Diagram of Kimuriella with leaves based on Zamites species from formations featured in the game, total form based on Kimuriella densifolia and Kimuriella/Zamites gigas. Jurassic Gleichenia-lineage plant based mostly on Gleichenia pulchella. Reconstruction of a "Cupressinocladus" type cheirolepidiaceous conifer, drawing from various Jurassic and Early Cretaceous preserved logs and branches.

I remember when I interviewed Beth Shapiro about mammoth DNA and she told me that cloning is basically a distraction and we should focus on the biology of the real animals. Sucks to see her sell out to be part of Colossal and assist this vaporware science.

Hi this is a PSA but if you are not generally a science journalist type person, but you are a journalist, and you get a PR piece from Colossal...

....just ask us please.

Because no the woolly mice don't mean mammoths are back, and DIRE WOLVES ARE NOT JUST WOLFIER WOLVES. GoT is FANTASY.

Dire wolves were not close relatives of gray wolves. They last shared a common ancestor more than 5 million years ago. What Colossal has done is make something new and slapped a dire wolf sticker on it, as if an organism equals a hypothetical genome.

happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!

with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.
Popular meme format, grandma labeled with "bluesky's public launch was one year ago today." Younger person helping her labeled with "sure grandma let's get you to bed."

I’m retexturing her from feedback from an actual modeler and blockbench as I ended up striping, texture edging and textured her unminecrafty. This is an extreme WIP btw with not all colors and patterns added.

I complain about nonsense interactions I get on social media about marine biology careers a lot.

So here’s a happy story.

Someone just messaged me to say they got their dream job in marine biology, a job they learned about after I shared it.

Congrats! 😊

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.
