My book, published by @edinburghup.bsky.social in March 2020, provides a fresh edition of the Pahlavi translation (Zand) of an Old Avestan text known as Yasna Haptaŋhāiti. It reframes the Zand and Zoroastrian Middle Persian texts as work of late antique exegesis. (1/7)

Katherine Rundell doesn't seem to be here. Do you know which book her brilliant BBC production, 'A Carnival of Animals', is based on? The options are:

(1) 'The Golden Mole'
(2) 'Vanishing Treasures' (below)
(3) 1 & 2 are identical
(4) on a completely different book?

Katherine Rundell tells the stories of 4 remarkable #animals. First, the orangutan - so intelligent it can wash clothes and steal canoes just by watching us - yet now critically endangered.
All part of our <48p per day per UK household #BBC licence fee.
BBC Radio 4 - A Carnival of Animals, Part 1: The Orangutan, The Hummingbird, The Swift, The Snake
Katherine Rundell explores wonderful stories of four astonishing but endangered animals.

Salaris, Davide. 2025. ‘Royal’ road, ‘royal’ needs: a GIS-based approach to Achaemenid court logistics between royal capitals of Susa and Persepolis. Antiquity. Published online 2025:1-8. This article redefines the concept of the Achaemenid ‘Royal’ Road using GIS-based route modelling to reconstruct possible roads between Susa and Persepolis. By integrating logistical and environmental parameters, it shows how royal mobility required a specialised infrastructure—distinct from ancillary roads—tailored to the operational scale of the Achaemenid court.

I've never been a member of a political party. But I'm 🤏🏻 close to joining the Greens; for obvious reasons.

If they achieve nothing, absolutely nothing, I'm still glad to have seen a Jew, a Muslim and a woman stand together. In our divided times, this is calming.
Tomorrow I'll be on Laura Kuenssberg.

Will I be able to say "I can announce the Green Party have just overtaken the Tories in members!"?

It's tantalisingly close to happening!
