Yet again @liverpoolpost.bsky.social uncovering more dodgy dealings. How the woman who is still a sitting #Labour councillor involved in this hasn’t resigned or been kicked out of the party is beyond me
Today’s @liverpoolpost.bsky.social investigation reveals how over £195,000 of Knowsley Foodbank's money was siphoned off into organisations connected to ex-Labour councillor Peter Mitchell and his disgraced charitable enterprise, Big Help.

I explain the story so far👇

If this had been the original plan it would have been seen as sensible for employees and acceptable to employers. But now it is just another humiliating climbdown the government #HR #UKemplaw www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Labour ditches day-one protection from unfair dismissal in U-turn
The right will now be introduced after six months, in a breach of Labour's election manifesto.

Perhaps some enterprising TV company could remake this series with #JeremyCorbyn who seems to be at a loose end currently and is already a Jack Hargreaves looky-likey. After all, Portillo did it with trains

If you’re wondering what a “least weasel” is, they absolutely live up to the name. This is the least amount of animal you can have that can still meet the bar for “is weasel”

As an #EV driver, I don't in principle have an issue with some form of tax, but this seems a remarkably cack-handed way of going about it. Why not a levy of say 2p per Kwh on charging stations? #Budget2025

1. Has Trump ever read The Great Gatsby?
2. Did he understand it if he did?
3. Jay Gatsby actually served in the military when required to, unlike a certain person

“Official theme is Gatsby and ‘a little party never killed nobody’, we’re told.”

Definitely worth a read - it appears that, as with #Reform, the leaders are racists and grifters, even if not all those following them are.

I’ve been outside the UK for a week but I could have written a more perceptive article than this. How on earth did #ChrisMason - who comes over as a fairly untalented regional news reporter- become BBC political editor? bbc.com/news/article...

I 100% agree with this approach- I have a lot of books that I have enjoyed but may never read again, and I would sooner others enjoy them than they just languish on my shelves
it is Done

36 books are off to the charity shop; around 130 remain

(for newish followers: yes I do a cull every 18 months or so, no I don't believe there's any point in owning more than, say, 200 books, no there is no amount of yelling at me that will change my mind)
why not decide to reorganise your bookshelves at 9pm, you will certainly not regret reorganising your bookshelves at 9pm

I'm enjoying #CelebrityTraitors and it was a funny incident, but it's hardly front page news. Although I think some of the conspiracy theorists are a bit much - a lot of the reasons for stories like this is simply the BBC using its website to promote its own TV shows
The BBC thinks this worthy of its news homepage, but I’m still not seeing much about Reform’s financial relationship with Russia. If we had a serious media we might not collectively drunkenly stagger from one idiocy to the next.

I don't in principle have an issue with fees at this level - £55 - (personally I think employers should have to pay an equivalent fee to enter response) but there are lots of details that need to be sorted out before they're introduced - a short🧵 1/3
