“It’s a shakedown. They’re trying now to use the power of the federal government to scare Minnesota officials into handing over voter rolls and backing down on their protective policies. Trump wants that state voter data so that he has the ability to interfere with the upcoming midterm elections.”
Bondi’s outrageous demand for Minnesota voter rolls in exchange for ICE leaving is smoking gun showing their plan to rig midterms. They’ll stop at nothing to spread false claims of voter fraud, wrongly purge eligible voters from rolls & challenge election results www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Will this be the final knife in the back of the Second Reconstruction?

John Roberts appears ready to go for broke, the great @ariberman.bsky.social tells me.

Find out why he expects the Republicans on the Supreme Court to kill off what's left of the Voting Rights Act any day now,

In 2022, a former LA County district attorney was put on administrative leave after he based a prosecution around tips from a right-wing group that promoted election fraud conspiracy theories.

Now, he's the top voting rights official at the DOJ, according to a legal filing reviewed by Mother Jones.
Scoop: New Justice Department voting rights chief had prior job suspension for ties to election deniers
California prosecutor Eric Neff relied on a right-wing group's intel to bring charges. Now, he's apparently in charge of voting rights at the DOJ.

Today, the DOJ sued Colorado for access to its complete voter roll. This marks the 15th state sued over private voter info, 13 of which are led by Democrats.
