Sixteen days ago, our little man was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer. It has been horrible watching his body fail so quickly without his personality ever even hinting at fading, the cruelest reminder that nothing in our lives is either fair or promised.

Today was better day! Finally got him to take all his pills by hiding them in beef teriyaki and he actually developed an appetite by the end of the night 🙂

We are fighting a losing battle, but his personality is still there and he still wants to go on long walks so it’s not time to let go yet

This is the hardest I have seen any member of Congress work to try and address transphobia in Congress, and her ability to get nearly all Democratic lawmakers to sign onto this letter is something any first would applaud
House Dems unite to tell GOP to stop "demonizing" trans people with "dehumanizing" slurs - LGBTQ Nation
Rep. Nancy Mace's "tra**y, tra**y, tra**y!" tirade is just one example.

Trans people aren’t under the bus; we’re driving it.

🚨The Senate just passed the bill to release the Epstein files by unanimous consent. It now heads to Trump’s desk for his signature or veto.

The rush to denounce a young woman for the appearance of having used sex to extract juicy gossip from powerful men sure is interesting

One small piece of good news for trans people: the Trump administration seems to be backing off its threatening language about invalidating X marker passports following a New York Times story.

Today’s the first day he won’t eat at all, even pieces of hot dog. I think we’re just about out of time with our little man 😭💔

Kinda wild that the high water mark of the MAGA movement might turn out to be getting Jimmy Kimmel taken off the air for roughly one business day

The Democratic Party is far from perfect, but they are the coalition that has invited us in. To lose what we have won inside the Democratic Party would be catastrophic .

I am a democrat and I will never stop fighting for trans liberation both in this country and in our party.

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 DESPERATELY needs a storyline to carry the show other than “Jesse maybe kissed a guy on a reality show a year ago,” they’re missing all the most compelling cast members and it’s sagging

I’ve been really struggling with anticipatory grief all week. Meanwhile today my little guy just seemed happy that both his people are giving him so many tummy rubs and hand feeding him turkey. There’s a lesson there, but it’s so hard knowing whats coming.
Our dog was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer on Monday. There’s not much we can do besides keep him comfortable, so I’ve been letting him go wherever he wants on walks this week.

Tonight he led us straight to his vet’s office.

I was in college when Sarah McBride posted her coming-out essay in HuffPost. I was closeted and could barely imagine living openly. She gave me the courage to try. Standing beside the first trans Member of Congress on the House floor was surreal. It really does get better.

One of my biggest beefs is when people belittle Representation as unimportant.

Do you have any fucking idea how much less terrible my mental health might have been if there was a ton of positive representation of homosexuality in the media????

*wokely* “only white dudes should hold public office”
Sarah McBride is an excellent example of how identitarian representation in public space cannot be the only metric of value - if given the choice between McBride and a cis white man with reliably good politics I'd pick the latter because her positionality only helps if she uses understanding to act.

Kind of wild that the conventional approach to treating a cold is to take a dissociative hallucinogen that is also an SNRI and you buy it at the grocery store
