I remain convinced that transport policy will never change unless decision makers are required to actually use the systems they decide upon.

If they had to actually use PT themselves, I'm sure you'd see significant improvement overnight.

@steverichards.bsky.social On Starmer - he's a manager not a leader.

I put this list together years ago from a business perspective, but it perfectly captures the problem of having a manager when what you really need is a leader.

"Smart Cambridge"...really? So that number "8" bus is actually a number "4"...is it any wonder passengers get totally confused and give up on buses?
December 3, 2025 at 10:22 PM
@steverichards.bsky.social shocked to hear how you talked about drivers in the podcast.

My village, 15 miles from Cambridge, has one bus per week. I'd not call that public transport. The alternative is a 7 mile walk or cycle (but no secure bike parking) to the nearest bus stop.

@steverichards.bsky.social what is utterly depressing about Nick Thomas-Symonds is his total failure to offer any hope that SM+CU is on the agenda.

Anyone in business, particularly SMEs, realises SM+CU is essential for growth.

This Labour doom loop narrative is a huge win for Farage.

Come on #Apple your podcast app is still freezing when scrolling Up Next in #iOS 26.1. When are you going to get it fixed?

@polcurrency.bsky.social love the podcast, listened to every one and you even answered one of my questions.

Your approach to rejoining the EU lacked ambition and was disappointingly cautious. You chose the politically convenient stance that serves party interests rather than the UK population.

Hey @visualstudio.com why does Copilot Modernize in VS2026 fail if you have spaces in your path name or file name?

That's a bit 1990's!

@steverichards.bsky.social Labour definitely need to break a pre-election pledge if they want the economy to grow.

They urgently need to realise EU SM+CU is essential to allow business to contribute to GDP growth with more exports (the "Net exports" part of the GDP equation).

Hey #Morrisons, I really like the new car park in Cambourne with its nice wide spaces!

It's so convenient to get out of the car without having to twist and contort to avoid hitting the car next to you.

This will definitely make me choose you over the competition.

@robmensching.com @firegiant.com I realise it's probably obvious to you but I don't think I've ever come across a bit of software where it's so difficult to find where the installer can be downloaded from.

Why not have a "Download Latest" button on the website?

Yes, it's true.

Trump really did post an AI video of himself - in a crown - dumping shit on people protesting against him.

This is a man Nigel Farage calls "inspirational".

Last June I took my Mum over to see my daughter at Jesus College in Cambridge. It was as they were setting up for May Ball, hence the orange carpet covering their precious lawn.

I've just noticed on Google Maps that they have a photo of me taking this photo of Mum!

Wow, what a coincidence!

A tool to make it easy to open the salt container lid on a NEFF dishwasher. Due to the lid's large diameter it can be challenging to unscrew, especially when salt sticks it tightly shut. Attach to a short bit of wood and rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Every year I complain about the baffling complexity of renewing a code signing certificate. Why does it have to be this hard?

#CheapSSLSecurity / #Cheap$$L / #FastSSL / #DigiCert (all different brands used at different stages of the process).

Annoyingly the DigiCert emails simply give wrong info.

@simoncalder.bsky.social you have covered how EES means Eurotunnel will take a photograph and fingerprint scans on your first transit through the border (say UK to France) - and thereafter every 3 years.

What happens when you return to the UK from France?

Do you ONLY have to show your passport?
September 29, 2025 at 8:34 AM
That's weird. You can see a flying jet on Google Maps. I guess that means the photography is from satellite?
