We need to stop seeing people cleaving to power as being the Most Rational Default Human Behavior. It is a source of collective madness both for those in power and those who wish to be power's paypigs and its authoritarian downlines. It is the source of the highest irrationality and insecurity.

Engineers like challenges, but we tend to be selective about what we consider a valid challenge. "I need to build this despite shit code /politics / lack of resources..." The mindset switch is that all these things are not inhibitors to solving the problem, they are part of the problem definition.

They are jpop with a base of pop punk and surf rock, and it's electric. I've seen them live more than any other band, and part of that is that they typically play these tiny-ass venues in the US!

See, a grill here is a charcoal or propane grill, or at worst a cast iron stovetop pan. All bottom-heating. Broilers are top heating. I'd much rather use the old school term "salamander" but that also sounds damp, so...
