It’s sad that geography makes it easier to connect downtown Victoria to Washington state vs BC mainland by ferry.

Is that the City of Calgary population? Or the metro area? Holy smokes

Yeah that's not a "vintage" chain/derailleur. ouch - don't even want to think about what that sounds like

Ugh partial tear in supraspinatus (part of rotator cuff) muscle. Why is middle age. Likely caused by a pretty routine / not a big deal snowboarding fall.

Given the crew doing the Sunnyside cycle track thinks it’s a waste of money it’s hard to rule anything out

Don’t forget the contingent that will ride but only on river paths after driving their bikes there and will say they’re “avid cyclists” but don’t support bike lanes

Yes, and - South Africa based apartheid and the bantustan system at least in part off Canada's Indian Act and reserve system.

If it isn't safety certified - it's dangerous. And the price tag of eBikes etc. with certified batteries isn't nearly as high as it used to be.
X-ray scans reveal the hidden risks of cheap batteries
Low-cost devices on Amazon and Temu might come with serious battery risks.

Hummers, such a waste of space

Yes - Ioniq branding has been a big success for Hyundai. Kia less so as they went with... "EV"... but 0 regrets shelling out for EV9 here (realistic prices here and far pricier leases but MSRP here was always much lower than US-credit inflated ones)

Another example is the Richmond Green development. Easy opportunity to build a short stretch of on-street bikeways or a MUP on 29 St SW between Richmond Rd and 34 Ave... But without anyone in charge of these things - won't happen. 3/

@natefor8.bsky.social Here's another tiny missing link - but no plans to fix it. Nice new 34 Ave SW pathway - would be a pity if you could actually access it except for narrow sidewalk from anywhere W of Crowchild / existing overpass across 33 Ave W of Crowchild. 2/

#yycbike The new 34 Ave MUP is decent, wide with proper curb cuts, and connects from 17 St across to SE corner of 33 Ave/Crowchild (green section; ext to 14 St under way, yellow). If only we had a cycling coordinator because I bet we'll wait a decade for the red portion not to be narrow sidewalk. 1/

We wanted to understand Democratic Socialists of America. So we talked to two old guys who voted for Trump. (Yes, this is literally the article.)

Right now UCP will impose what they want regardless

Bette than paint for sure and maybe better than flexi posts without any concrete
asadc.bsky.social
Absolutely. But it’s become the societal and cultural norm so hard to make people see it
asadc.bsky.social
They just can’t see anything once they get out. It’s ridiculous - or they just tolerate it cause they have to and that last little walk is why they “hate downtown” or “there’s no parking”

Ah I didn’t see that side of the reaction (Reddit)
