What's happening in ICE also seems to go in the FBI.
The current US administration seeks to staff key security agencies with unprofessional careerists rather than skilled professionals. See 👇

🙏 for a great post and featuring our work/new book "Making a Career in Dictatorship", @donmoyn.bsky.social!
New from me:
Kash Patel is engaged in purges, removal of real accountability, and impunity for loyalists at the FBI.
Researchers told me that these are the exact patterns that create abusive national security organizations under authoritarianism. 🧵

Nice, crisp introduction to my latest article on the targeting logic behind soft power 👇 Thanks @worldpolitics.bsky.social
Since the 1950s, educational exchanges and "study abroad" programs, such as @princetonpiirs.bsky.social Global Seminars, have flourished. The United States alone hosts over one million international foreign students annually, as Figure 1 from @ascharpf.bsky.social's July WP article shows.

The new issue of @worldpolitics.bsky.social also includes a contribution from me 🥳

The article studies the targeted use of foreign influence campaigns. It examines an exchange program of a young Harvard scholar & one of the most influential politicians of the 20th century.
