I'm excited to share the publication of a new NOAA Tech Note, led by Joe Olson, on the MYNN-EDMF turbulence parameterization!

It documents ~7 years of advances, and the latest MYNN will be available in the next major releases of WRF-ARW (spring) and MPAS (late spring-ish).

When she was young, Sinéad O’Connor spoke to her grandparents’ piano. The ancient instrument, its keys “yellowed like her grandpa’s teeth,” spoke back in haunted tones.

I’ve got a new essay up, complete with a voiceover narration, about ghosts, the Divine Feminine, and spiritual protest.

Atmospheric rivers are one of the best ways to get damaging glaze icing higher in the atmosphere than traditional metrics typically suggest because you lift warm, juicy air straight from the tropics up into the mid to even upper levels of the troposphere.
