Vul stands, tiny and insignificant in the face of a raging inferno amidst a ruined lobby. Panel 1. A light ember singes Vul's bandaged hand. Panel 2. She recoils in fear. Panels 3 to 6. A spliced image of Vul, tears and sweat rolling down her face as she stares at her shaking hands. In the background a fire roars as her heart pounds louder and louder. "It burns." "It's hot." There is something to be said about how white/western folks consume media outside of North America or media by people of colour that they reduce even the most violent/prolific works as “cozy” or “soft” or “uwu”.

Degrading, but also missing major media literacy about what the works entail at all.

Hate hate hate the reduction of Ghibli's output into a vague aesthetic. Even before generative AI, people would talk about "cozy Ghibli vibes" stripped of all context, and now we're seeing where that gets us.

I've used the artist name 'Snake' for most of my life at this point. Completely forgot I had a little snake mascot around 2007 for a short while.

I've decided to update the design for fun. Hand-animated it, because it felt more entertaining. Still trying to workshop a name.
