Like every mayor before him, Harrell wants arts and culture events downtown. The difference is that "you're going to see a lot of AI in it."

With paving now finished, the Denny Way Paving Project is in its final stages.

To improve bus and streetcar operations, SDOT crews recently installed a new ‘c-curb’ and signs restricting right turns at Westlake Ave and Denny Way.

These restrictions take effect on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Workers use heavy machinery to lay asphalt on a city street.

Now I finally understand the "Seattle Process" - it's just extra innings!
asher755.bsky.social
Yeah I thought the city had to throw in a few extra million to get it over the finish line… but I’d be surprised if it was a full $30M more
asher755.bsky.social
Nobody has done anything about that intersection for the past 5+ years
asher755.bsky.social
Well that was weird

⚾️ Bases loaded. two outs. Bottom of the 11th. Dodgers can advance with a run

Raise Grant says it’s $44M, I’m surprised it increased by $30M? Who funded the additional $30M?

Ok I rode this in like August 😆
Oops ;)

Something I absolutely did not remember was Rick Steves co-authoring the pro statement in the voter's guide for Sound Transit 3.
Statement in favor
Yes on Proposition 1: Rail Connecting
Our Region
Growth is a fact: Our region adds 230 people every day. Proposition 1
gives you the choice to get out of daily gridlock. One light rail line can
carry 16,000 people per hour; a general-purpose freeway lane moves
just 2,000 cars. Fast, frequent rail gets you where you need to be, on
time, every time.

This is why we are killing design review
qagggy.bsky.social
The West Design Review Board delayed the project until it lost financing, insisting that portions of the building not visible from the street have expensive brick cladding. People lost their homes, my friend Nat lost his business, and his employees lost their jobs. The whole saga is on X.

Thank you @theurbanist.org @seattletru.bsky.social @sngreenways.bsky.social @transpochoices.bsky.social and every volunteer and advocate fighting for better mobility, connection, and safety on our streets. This is a shared win and something to celebrate.

Sounds like she also reached out to SDOT to raise concerns! Thank you!

Anything from the D3 councilmember?

I was just as shocked with the news about the route 2 bus only lane as you. We are working on it. We need to prioritize pedestrian safety and not go backwards on our transit investments.

Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine just told the board's rider experience committee that East Link has officially entered the system integration phase.

That means you'll see single trains with up to four cars operating across the I-90 bridge "intermittently."

We clearly don’t have the best people in charge right now
typewriteralley.bsky.social
As far as I can tell, SDOT seemed to think this would be a fairly routine change, with the Mayor's Office caught completely off guard by the public pushback.
