Massive 👀
This effort seems to be progressing well. I will have more to announce shortly.
My dream, which I’ve been working on for a few years, is for Seattle to have a pedestrian plaza in the heart of every neighborhood.

This is so depressing ☹️
If I were going to an ICE protest I’d take a 60-second video of myself saying what I’m doing and what I’m all about and would send it to a loved one so they could post it if anything happened to me.

This shit in Minneapolis is just so incredibly sad

Epic day for an epic announcement!
We're just seconds away from learning the date that the full 2 Line will finally cross Lake Washington with riders aboard.

So because we don’t have better public transit and universal health care we must let people drive drunk? What?
The two Democrats who opposed the bill in committee were Tara Simmons (Poulsbo), and Darya Farivar (NE Seattle).

Simmons said she was unpersuaded by data showing a positive impact from 0.05% in countries outside the US, because those places have better public transit and universal health care.

Los Angeles is almost certainly the worst governed major blue city in the entire country at this point
L.A. Metro, the main transit operator for Los Angeles, just voted to oppose SB 79, a law legalizing the construction of housing near stations. You can't make this stuff up. Legislators should remember this the next time they come to Sacramento begging for more money.

ouch!
We've got some really heavy hitters ready to push for bold change on the transportation committee this year. And Rob Saka and Bob Kettle are there too.

Mayor Wilson yesterday delayed the removal of an ecampment in Ballard, which is notable. Also notable: The city has removed more than 100 smaller encampments and RVs since Jan. 4. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

The encampment, by the Burke-Gilman Trail, is home to roughly 17 tents. Wilson visited the location Wednesday, speaking with people staying there.

We are beyond honored to have joined Mayor Wilson this morning to announce an executive order for bus lanes on Denny Way. We can't wait to finally Fix the L8 and see what she has in store for the next 4 years of Seattle's transit

Huge congrats to @fixthel8.bsky.social and @nicksattele.bsky.social and everyone else who spoke up and asked for better buses!!
The second item: "We're going to be getting out the red paint on Denny Way," Wilson said. "We cannot let one of our highest ridership routes languish in traffic." Bus lane inbound.

Incredible: this bill includes an exemption from changes to parking minimums for a city within one mile of an airport with 9 million annual emplacements.

Which doesn't exist in Indiana.

It's copied over from Washington's parking reform bill, targeting SeaTac.
