Been reading quite a bit recently querying the need for diagnoses .
My thoughts: a diagnosis such as DLD is a short cut to general understanding but should not obscure our understanding of a person's individual strength and needs. #DevLangDis

It hasn't been very busy on here yet, but start posting, searching and sharing so we can build our community and learn together. People with DLD, families and professionals together

Just under one month to go until #DLDday - it's our chance to raise awareness for people with Developmental Language Disorder. I'm delighted that 'Old Joe' clock tower at the University of Birmingham will be lit up in purple on the 18th October for the 4th year running! #DevLangDis

Still looking for families with children born between March & June 2020 to take part in our BICYCLE #study looking at #talking and #thinking skills.

Over 100 participants so far. More families from SouthWest England and East Midlands particularly needed so that we get a good spread.

The dara project is looking for adults (>18yrs) with #aphasia or developmental language disorder #DLD to take part research.

We are exploring how people with communication needs use visual information.

If you'd like to take part, we'd love to hear from you!
Information sheet requesting research participation for Project dara. It says:

"The Dara project 'Exploring Information' is looking for adults with Aphasia or Developmental Language Disorder' to explore visualisations." It goes on to explain "About the research" (data visualization for everyday decision making); "What will happen" (language assessment and diary exercise); and "Why this research is important" (existing research in data visualization doesn't consider language needs).

If you are interested please contact Niamh.devane.2@city.ac.uk for more information.
