It's funny you mention that, @lilyfivenumbers.bsky.social some years ago actually looked into it and I believe made a small batch for banana tokens that were scratch and sniff!

It'd be a pilot who dodges asteroids by using warp sight goggles or something.
The wording should be redone as well, but basically you can pay 1 life to play a land from exile that you couldn't otherwise.

I truly think exile draw/casting is a great design space for Kavu. They should be beefy, sometimes use +1/1 counters, and always exemplify speed and might at a cost.
EoE Kavu card idea: RG1 whenever you exile a land for the first time on your turn, you may play that land instead and lose 1 life.

Fun magic art confusion from back in the day!
I've experienced this, and have come across many folks who've had the same realization.
Signal pest's arm is often mistaken for its head, and it's head as a shoulder or body part because it's face is so small!

I dream that one day kavu will be given the respect they deserve.

Still mad they finally phyrexianized a kavu in MOM. I remember hearing they couldn't figure out how to turn kavu back in the old days, and I thought that was awesome. Wild and free, oh and bloodthirsty.
