Some people are so ruled by their stories they can't see that the "worse" part is literally always there and you're literally always carrying that with you.

And that it's not until you address the shit you've buried that you can be of real service to anyone else.
I went to this Buddhist meditation thing today and my takeaway is that spending an hour in my own head is exponentially worse than just bottling up my toxic bullshit until I explode

Getting out and touching grass.
Communing with the neighbors.

Haven't been been reading Twitter, but *have* been taking walks.

Sometimes I can't handle the treadmill of evil bullshit the world puts in front of me and I have to claim space for my own soul for a bit.

If you're a professor at Texas A&M, you'll need to receive written authorization from the university president before discussing this incident on campus.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

So here's where we are, Sunday morning:

Trump is trying to starve hungry kids in order to bully Democrats into abandoning our fight against health care premium increases.

So Trump is starving kids in order to deny families health care.

Toying with the idea of a two-month internet-cleanse.

Creating more spaciousness in mind-heart-soul and instead of scratching my itch to communicate by tweeting, putting myself into some long-delayed writing projects that seem to be blocking whatever comes next.

This is important
🧵 Yesterday I shared my views on how disordered discourse has captured the US state and the risk of that happening elsewhere, but I don’t want to leave you hanging without proposing a solution.
What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.

The end result is what we’re seeing in the U.S. - a democracy struggling to function because its institutions are trapped in disordered discourse. Governance isn’t about solving problems; it’s about demonstrating loyalty to manufactured narratives.
