It should be this amount regardless of whether ex tenant has asked for it or not. If Gavin has any moral compass - he should now transfer that amount and say sorry - and then, like all of us, learn from it and know nothing goes away. Idea he knew the ex-tenant was now a working journalist baffles.

The focus on the unpaid monies - misses the point that if he had complied with law and registered the tenancy with RTB - the tenant would have had easy access to his rights under RTB - and RTB would have handled it. For me the failure to register is the core issue.

idea a future president thinks its ok to dismiss registering a rental property ( let alone the missing payment)- and thinks that's what most people did - suggests he's not fit to be a candidate. Lots of people followed law and registered rental property - He'd be better to stop defending #aras26
