I actually don’t, but seeing that people get excited when I post something makes me feel a bit better. I tell myself I only write what I WANT to write and that if someone likes it then it’s really good, but it’s also something I put out there that I was having fun while writing so!

i truly believe that if you write stuff you’re genuinely excited about, it has value! someone else out there will also be excited about it! some ppl say squares painted on canvas isn’t art, but some ppl are deeply moved by it you know, it’s incredible to create art and share it with people 💖

Make peace with posting something "bad". I put it in quotes bc we are our harshest critics. It's okay to make "bad" fic - this isn't ur job, this is not a Saw game where ur life depends on perfect use of an oxford comma. You can always edit it in the future. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

“I hate this,” Mingi whispers.

“It could be worse, Pink. We could be dead.” Yunho’s voice is like silk, low and smooth. Mingi swallows hard.

“I knew your brother was a fucking cunt.”

Yunho sighs. “He’s always felt slighted, but for no reason. The irony is that he’s never shown an ounce of interest in ruling his own country.” As he speaks, he slides his fingertips over to Mingi’s knee, tracing slow, lazy patterns over the outside seam of his trousers. Mingi watches, helpless, his heart pounding like a drum in his chest.

“Yeah, well, framing the worthless Flower King Consort seems like something an apathetic royal would think up.”

“Don’t say that,” Yunho replies sharply. His hand suddenly curls around Mingi’s knee and squeezes, once. Mingi feels a sudden empathic rush from Yunho, something that feels very much like…longing?

“What, that Ryeom’s apathetic?”

“That you’re worthless.”

Mingi snorts. “Your brother’s made it very clear how he feels about me.”

“My brother isn’t me.” His hand carefully unfurls, his thumb moving back and forth in a gentle circle at the bend of Mingi’s knee.

<i>He promised not to touch me</i>, Mingi thinks, but he can’t bring himself to care. Instead, he leans into Yunho’s touch like a leaf seeking sunlight. “Did the Honey Thistle make you say that?” he says with a weak laugh.
