Words rushed out of him, so fast he didn't have time to try to take them back. "I think I've been in love with you for a long time and I was too scared to admit it." Hongjoong's eyebrows lifted, listening, before a smile curled at his mouth. "You are?" Seonghwa nodded. He thought of when they were in Italy together and how free he felt letting Hongjoong take care of everything, take care of him. Guiding him around with an entire itinerary, ordering food for them in English because he was more confident with speaking the language. How warm it all made Seonghwa feel. Like hot sticky-sweet caramel dripping and oozing into his stomach, keeping him glued to Hongjoong's side, attentive and bright-eyed. He'd never experienced anything quite like it. To be so seen, even just for a day. Traveling to a place that held so much meaning for him, despite Hongjoong knowing very little about Star Wars— though he always indulged in Seonghwa's excited ramblings-and planning everything for him anyway. Soaking up the late winter sun, cool breeze whipping through their hair. For once, it was simple. Even thinking about it now stirred up that same warmth, matching the nervous heat on his cheeks. Heart thudding in his chest and crawling up his throat.

It’s not finished yet, but I’m probably most proud of flickering light. The characterization feels strong as well as the emotional beats. I love placing lore Hongjoong and Seonghwa in a room together and having them talk

So this took alot of digging through google docs cause I took this off Ao3 a year ago. This was a Soul x Maka fanfic I wrote for the anime Soul Eater based on a Miku Vocaloid song called Joker. Good god it's full of grammar errors but I'm proud that I made a multi chapter Fic & FINISHED IT!
The Tags for Joker Summary and the Author Notes for Joker A snippet from Chapter 1. Maka stumbles upon a castle in the middle of the woods while returning home. She meets The Magician Soul "Eater" Evans and plays a game of selecting the correct card. Snippet from Chapter 2. Maka chose the Joker Card so Soul wins. He will keep her hostage and steal her soul to force her not to leave the castle.
