in america during the second great awakening the women joined apacolyptic cults awaiting the destruction of earth and the men started inventing breakfast cereals that would stop them from jerking off so much and you can see how from there we got here

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I already asked this but I need to ask again cause I'm out of options.

Where can I find a definitive C++ reference? I want to read about all the features in C++ one by one without fluff.

Tried reading "A Tour of C++" (2013) and "The C++ Programming Language" (1997) but they're far from a reference

I wonder if there's an emulator out there that lets you simulate a bad cartridge connection.

or i guess how hard it would be to hack an emulator and like force an address or data line held high or low.

If you block the right pin on a Final Fantasy Legend II cartridge, the game will still seemingly load but will be in an incredibly glitched state where it always starts a new game and gives you a party of four paralyzed eyeball monsters. No encounters happen and maps don't connect correctly.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

In Final Fantasy IV If you get the timing exactly right, after Yang sacrifices himself to stop the cannon in the Tower of Bab-Il, you can actually get back into the control room.

It is empty. The door to leave doesn't work and warp/exit don't work either, resulting in a softlock

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

Éric Chahi’s masterpiece was a breakthrough with it’s cinematic ambitions, and programming genius Burger Becky made those polygons run decently on stock SNES.
