This is a great article and it is good to see Walmart focused on its workers. The biggest thing that stands out to me not just for Walmart but all retailers is how far the starting wages even with the increases are from living wages no matter where in the US you live.

It's really simple

Voters want an opposition party that will fight for them, and democracy, like there's no tomorrow

Dem elites want a members-only social club where polite, dues-paying members who they like to see at cocktail parties get rewarded with plum roles www.politico.com/news/2025/10...

Today is a good reminder that the elites of both parties collapsed and capitulated with fascism selling us all out but the average population has not.

A lot of centrist commentators who genuinely got worked up about the unforgivably insulting nature of "cling to guns and religion" or "basket of deplorables" are weirdly silent about Trump portraying himself as literally shitting on American cities

Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...

Today, Californians joined millions nationwide to say loud and clear:

NO to authoritarianism.
NO to assaulting our democracy.
NO to censorship and fear.
NO to hate and division.
NO to corruption and cruelty.
NO to kings.

YES to a government by and for the people.

I know nothing will come of this but I really wish so much this stuff just got you kicked out of office. And when Vance does this, he reminds me exactly of the white working class racist guys I grew up who just sit on Facebook posting nonsense.

Brad Lander:

250 years ago, the founders brought forth on this land a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the idea that all are created equal. They would not abide, kings or tyrants.

That's why we are out here to say #NoKings, any time.

Treating the Declaration of Independence’s list of grievances like a to do list.

"He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing … his invasions on the rights of the people."

"For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate …".
It's official: Speaker Johnson just cancelled all votes in the House next week.

The next scheduled voting day is 10/27; the last time the House was in session was 9/19.
And let’s not forget the seed money for his billions came from daddy.
If you want to hate him even more read the old Vanity Fair article about his whiny Hamptons bike ride. I would have gone into hiding from the embarrassment.

Lol half of Zohran's entire pitch to NYers is he's not going to make time to have special sit downs with billionaires just bc they've got cash to throw around.
He should have told him to show up at a campaign event like every other New Yorker who wants to participate in the political process.

“the constitution forbids race conscious remedies” would be news to the people who wrote the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments
Griem goes there, arguing in response to Justice Jackson that there can be no race-conscious remedy absent a finding of intentional discrimination.

Q: Politico reported on a group chat of young Republicans. Does this just reflect some bad apples?

HOCHUL: Some bad apples? These are the future of the GOP. This is so vile it's hard to find the words to put into context ... there's gotta be consequences ... this bullshit has to stop.
