This isn't some Tom Clancy novel where they do war crimes because it's the only way they can get at the evil terrorist criminal mastermind or something.
Even if we believe them -- and, ha ha, no! -- they murdered low level drug runners. That's it!

I don't think the Justices understand the extent to which they are playing with fire. The more they do this, the more District Courts will engage in open disrespect of the Supreme Court, because what other response is there to open disrespect directed at them? That's bad for the Judiciary, period.

Our constitution was always substantially a botch, and now we see that it produced the kind of power-glutted Supreme Court that the anti-Federalists predicted from the get-go. We need not abide by the constitution's rules for fixing the constitution's failings.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.
