I've had this video recorded for a bit and the game came out yesterday. Can't speak to the final product but the demo was very cool! Think I will be picking it up.
I go out of my way to be as informed as possible so as to not cover any games that use generative ai on my channel. I appreciate Steam requiring disclosure, needs to become mandatory everywhere AND enforced.
Spoke to a number of devs about how, in the face of CEOs claiming gen-AI is the future, their declaration of being genAI free is making waves.

YouTube is so strange because some random video you've had sitting around for a rainy day upload will take off and the thing you put a lot of time and effort into will often do a whole lot of nothing. The latter videos are more fulfilling though.

This was a fun little demo. I think there are some balancing issues but I had a good time and the presentation is top notch. Also a very interesting take on several genres.

Waiting for the followup post where he realizes XIII got a bad rap and that the fantastic ff7 remakes have ffxiii all through their DNA.
You ever want to go back and revisit something to see how bad it really was. That's me right now with the FFXIII trilogy. (HATED XIII, liked XIII-2, never played LR).

Games like this remind me why I love JRPGs in the first place. The characters, the music, the hunts, the story…everything landed.

I've sunk some more time into the actual game now and it's really a joy. Won't hit with everyone but it's cozy as hell and feels like a time capsule from like 1998 in the best way. Will definitely be doing a full review when I'm done.
