Very VERY important to draw the line and create boundaries. Once someone has acted against me, they lose my trust. I work on forgiving them for both our sakes, but never get as close to them again.

One way to do this is to examine opinions different from yours--not necessarily to change your mind (though that could happen), but to examine the thinking process the other person used to create their opinion.

My father had a similar diagnosis for his mental illness, minus the sadism you see in 45. Mom divorced him when I was eight and I no contact with him after that--nor did his family! People like this are destructive and should not be enabled.

I'm hoping that after they have a good laugh, the jurors vote to acquit--jury nullification is a real thing and should be used in times like these.

This is very important, I think. My dear late husband was of Jewish heritage, and I went to school with a lot of Jewish kids. Neither his family nor the kids I knew ever expressed Zionist opinions.

Interesting point of view. My dear late husband, who was of a slight build, would often be picked on by bullies because of his speech impediment. He said he would get them mad so that he could control the situation, and got out of many scrapes by doing so.

As a genealogist, I learn the history of many immigrants. What I've found is that the majority were hard working, wanting to get ahead and to give something back to the country that welcomed them. Turning our back on the latest wave of immigration is foolish.

I left the party when I moved to AR. I had worked for Dems in IL when I lived there, and was welcomed to help. Not in AR. I was told by the local committee that they didn't want help and they weren't doing anything to help elect Dems unless paid to do so.

In Arkansas, the Democratic filing fees are much greater than the GOP, which discourages people from running. Those that do run don't seem to campaign, just ask for money. Plus my local committee doesn't want new volunteers and doesn't do anything to get Dems elected.

Agreed. When I was a kid, top tax bracket was 90%. If that was good enough for Ike back in the late '50s, it should be good enough for us. Plus Basic Income is more efficient than all the various programs to help the poor, as it covers all.

Tax the rich. No person should have so much money. Note I didn't say "wealth" because they are not wealthy--true riches comes from your character and your interactions with others in a humane and compassionate way.

Oh yeah. Something's gonna blow because of this. 100 years ago, Republicans were firmly in control in DC--then the Depression hit, Hoover didn't deal with it, and in 1932 the Dems won overwhelmingly.
