Lots of abuser mentality out there...yesterday (1/12/26) a Fox afternoon news host, commenting on the mayors' and AG's presser in Minneapolis announcing lawsuit v. DHS, asked why the officials hadn't *thanked* DHS.

Same thing for not turning out to protest in person if you're able because you don't think there's any point.
Second, and probably most importantly, it's tactically wrong. "No point discussing political opposition to fascism, there won't be elections anyway" cedes victory to your enemies. It's defeatism and nihilism.

We woke up to a fire in our home, we are fine minimal damage.
Our fucking smoke alarms go off in when I cook but when the house actually was on fire they were as quiet and asleep as us and it took my cat to wake me up to out it out.
