A personal note before scrutinizing the postseason format in its third season and sizing up each first round matchup. Great to be back! jeffrueter.substack.com/p/introducin...

Just found that there have been enough instances of law enforcement killing people in Minnesota to warrant its own dedicated, dynamic Wikipedia landing page.

13 people killed; 11 since November, 2015. The only U.S. state with such a list.

I asked Emma Hayes if she's okay with the #NWSL High Impact Player criteria including #USWNT game minutes - which means she has a role in determining if players qualify.

I also asked if the NWSL told her the rule was coming before announcing it.

Hayes' answer:

This reminds me that May 2026 marks ten years since the U.S. lower leagues' record was set: The Miami FC prying Richie Ryan from the Jacksonville Armada for $750,000.
Lexington SC’s offseason has been unlike anything we’ve seen in USL.

💰 The 1st six-figure intra-league transfer in league history (Aaron Molloy)

💰 The *2nd* six-figure intra-league transfer in league history (Philip Goodrum)

Plus key adds like Semmle. Fascinating investment in the 2nd division.
Sources: Former Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Oliver Semmle is signing with Lexington (USL Championship).

Semmle, 27, made 18 appearances for the Union first team and seven for Union II, adding veteran experience to a win-now roster.

Ah yes, the famously informed and reflective Ballon d’Or Féminin and a not-at-all convoluted and devoid of ball knowledge “SportsPro Media Top 150 Most Marketable Athletes.”

An all-time fumble from a league that looks less confident in its trajectory and planning with every passing week.
this is so stupid

Few purer scenes left in this sport than when a tournament host scores its opening goal - this time, Morocco and AFCON. Nifty sequence to break down a well-organized Comoros defense.
