So this is based of a subset of people who could afford to even attend GDC in the past and bothered to answer. There is a class system within games with a small number with high incomes and the rest of us who are shocked when we see numbers like this and struggling to find any work.
The average salary for games industry professionals based in the United States was $142,000 in 2025, according to a new report from GDC Festival of Gaming.

My time at Heart Machine has sadly come to a rather abrupt end. I was there for almost 6 years, & had been working on Breaker since summer 2020. It was a pleasure working with them!
