Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.
SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

The UK’s independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Today our report is published!

Nonsense.

Taxing wealth rather than income is the least damaging to the majority.

We knew Starmer rigged UK GE candidate selections. Turns out they used software (hilariously called Anonyvoter, which is anything but annonymous) to ensure they’re rigged; & being investigated by the Met for it.

So are his henchmen in Welsh Labour.

Trump pressure to hike UK drug prices could cost NHS billions.

Corporate profits will increase. NHS budget will buy less. People to pay higher taxes or face public service cuts.

To avoid bullying UK Govt must produce cheaper generic drugs.

Independence is about giving Scotland a fresh start - and a chance to build an economy that works for us.

A future where all decisions are made by people who live here.

I’m in the stunning National Portrait Gallery this morning, where I will set out more at 9am.

Man arrested for holding up a magazine in public. A magazine that can be purchased in 10,000 newsagents. That it’s publishers and editor haven’t been arrested for.

What a Kafkaesque state the UK is in.

The only fix is to dissolve the Union.

Nah, the numbers don't add up. Despite being subject to a vast smear campaign Corbyn got far higher numbers than any other leader since Blair in 97. Starmer got lucky with his (pretty poor) numbers and has done nothing but compromise - and refugees are arguably worse off now than under the Tories.

The more America sees and hears from Stephen Miller, the worse it is for Trump and MAGA.

He's a total freak and loser, repulsive to the majority, and he's the shadow President and currently the most powerful, unelected person in the country.
