Charity Shop find of the day-this is now the second copy of this that I own -however unlike the other ex-library copy that has a terrible sleeve I’m not sure this has ever been played

Brilliant! Well done. That helicopter must have cost a kings’ ransom!

Wow! Incredible detective work from Simon here.

And here's your answer - the opening credits of the edition broadcast on 13th Dec 1977 has a very brief clip of the sequence in question, so it must have come from a show shortly before that date. I don't know if the whole show exists, but at least there's a bit of evidence!

So, this has got me on a bit of quest. Here’s Tony Blackburn again at R1 and this time it’s presenting Junior Choice in 1979.
Spread out on the desk are Doctor Who - Genesis Of The Daleks and Goon Show Classics Vol.6. Not sure he played either tbh.

I just remembered that, naturally, Radio 1 studios in those days would have a full set of BBC Sound Effects LPs on hand, as you can see in this 1976 snaps of Noel Edmonds.

Ooh, yeah! Would love this. Had the same thought about Christmas, and a few months from artwork to pressing is pretty much their turnaround. The 1976 BBC Records Operations Calendar has Sleeve notes to Andrew Prewett on 15th Dec; Sleeve Artwork to printer on Dec 29th for a Release Date on March 5th.

I’d have thought the toys would be a better daytime piece, but who knows. Could be from another show entirely. The presenter on the left looks like Angela Rippon, at first sight.

Congratulations, MJ! Very well spotted.
I believe it is Sound Effects no.5, chosen to have the least possible copyright issues for BBC Enterprises.
And here’s your T-shirt!

Y’know, that’s what I always assumed this album was for, but it’s clearly A Pebble Mill At One tie-in.
I reckon that’s the audience seating you can see through the window so I agree on the location. (Went there once in the late 80s so memory is fuzzy)

That would be on brand. But it’s something with fewer image copyright complications.

An even harder quiz is what is going on in the studio ‘Down At The Old Pebbke Mill’? I’ve always wondered what the image was supposed to capture. Toys. Lots of toys! So was the PB@1 or another show?
