This term Dr O's Economics students are reading Talking to My Daughter by Yanis Varoufakis. They came up to the library today to collect their books, and while they were here they decided what reading animal they are - there were a lot of tortoises! #bedesreads #goallin #nationalyearofreading2026

We'll be reading three of these titles in next term's Brilliant Books and Biscuits. But not The Things We Leave Behind or Glasgow Boys because we already read those - look at us, fingers all over the literary pulse! #bedesreads #booksky #libraries

What did you think of Butler's use of diary entries to tell the story? Did it add to the impact? How?

Hey, artists, in case you were wondering if your work matters: I'm a scientist working on climate change and biodiversity, and I would not be who I am today without The Lorax, The Secret of NIMH, Watership Down, The Last Unicorn, and The X-Files. I know I'm not alone. Thank you for all you do.

I honestly can't find the words to articulate how beautiful this book is & how moved I was by it. A stunning exploration of love, loss & man's relationship with nature, I'm genuinely lost for how to explain its impact on me. Highly, highly recommend #BookSky
