In 2011 I had a well-sourced story on medical students doing unauthorized gynecological exams on unconscious patients without consent and we didn't publish it at a major women's mag because my boss, whose husband was a new doctor, said "He told me that doesn't happen."

There's a lesson here for medicine in the USA.

Don't let us be co-opted by ICE.

There are too many times that well-meaning clinicians violated the rights of people after fuzzily thinking that they were helping "the good guys."
Texas fire department helps ICE detain roofers—using tower ladder truck that should be reserved for local emergency.

Agents grab at workers' legs to yank them off multi-story house—even using pepper spray atop roof.

Firefighters did equip ICE with safety harness for this risky series of maneuvers.

they're still teaching new graduate emergency department nurses that excited delirium is a real thing they will encounter on a regular basis. there is still such a total disconnect between the hard work being done to end the use of the fake dx and the reality on the ground.

you really cannot trust anyone when you have bangs. i look insane in all my graduation pictures because the people i specifically asked to tell me if i needed to brush them down abandoned me in my time of need.

actually i think it's cool how the local news website is able to cause my browser to freeze and shut down. i like that my nuclear grade adblocker stack is powerless against the local news website.

i'm finding that patients are generally pretty receptive to receiving a flu shot while in the ed. nurses are not actually asking and are instead marking them down as no and declined to get through triage slightly faster, tho. good thing this ehr data is never used for any kind of research,,

watched someone plug a patient's phone into the computer they were using to chart to let it charge. we need to fear unknown usb drives. we need more mandatory elearnings. we need to pay penance for this sin against cybersecurity.
