Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

Thx to @grandcontinent.bsky.social for putting my and @bentarnoff.com's Muskism book on their list of ones to watch for in 2026. There's some good ones on here, including Nick Mulder's Age of Confiscation, which is bonkers. legrandcontinent.eu/fr/2025/12/2...

More or less done with the reading list for History of the Database. You could take a lot of different approaches, but this is the one I went with.

I have a piece out today that explores what socialist mayors like Zohran and Katie Wilson can do to fight the tech oligarchy and build a technological alternative at the municipal level. I call it the “digital sewer socialist stack” jacobin.com/2025/12/digi...
Digital Sewer Socialism

Really sad to hear about the passing of Asad Haider. Such a brilliant mind and such a sweet guy. And a great lover of Tiki cocktails

I wrote a book with Quinn Slobodian called MUSKISM. It'll be published in the US in April 2026, and I hope you'll consider pre-ordering it.

The elevator pitch is: if Fordism defined the capitalism of the 20th century, Muskism may well define the capitalism of the 21st.

Feels like this wouldn't happen even 20 years ago? Internal labor markets meant you cut your teeth reporting the facts on night court or whatever then eventually you get to interview the mayor. Now you go to an ivy, build a brand, maybe a podcast and take that brand between papers.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.
