Since February 15th is coming up, a friendly reminder that mouthy women get stuff done even way back in the day: constitutioncenter.org/blog/on-this... #belva #lockwood #women #lawyers ⚖️♀️
On this day, women first allowed to argue Supreme Court cases
On February 15, 1879, President Rutherford B. Hayes signed a new law that would admit women as members of the Supreme Court bar and allow them to submit and argue cases at the high court.

3/ SAVE = the “Systemic Alien Verification for Entitlements” database. DOGE overhauled it. Trump & the GOP want states to use it to conduct the voter purge programs required under the so-called “Save America Act”, previously called the “Save Act.” www.dhs.gov/news/2025/04...

Not to mention an upgrade to Real ID was an additional $70 at my DMV.

People will pass who don't have the money/time/documents.

So it's voter suppression aside from the vague proof of citizenship ... So ultimately one must assume they intended to target the poor.

Unbeknownst to most people, the GOP’s “Save America Act” would establish voter purge programs using data systems that experts say are unreliable. These systems reek of DOGE & thus of Elon Musk who is *heavily* promoting the Act on X. 1/ www.brennancenter.org/our-work/res...

6/ I repeat: most Real IDs do *not* prove citizenship. (EDLs, which are available in only 5 states are an exception) The SAVE America Act thus misleads when it says voters can prove citizenship w/ “a form of ID issued consistent with the reqmts of…REAL ID…that indicates the applicant is a citizen….”

4/ The GOP’s “SAVE America Act” has a list of approved citizenship documentation for voters. It includes Real IDs that “indicate citizenship,” which is highly misleading bc most REAL IDs *don’t* indicate citizenship. Read about it here: abcnews.com/Politics/sav...

3/ Here’s a link to the Brennan Center’s July 2025 report warning about the problems with both the SAVE System and the Social Security Number database when used to purge voters from the voter rolls, as would occur under the “Save America Act”. Everyone should read it.
Homeland Security’s “SAVE” Program Exacerbates Risks to Voters
Bad data and a politicized overhaul could spread election fraud lies and disenfranchise voters.

I read the Trump-backed voter suppression bill, the so-called “Save America Act,” so you don’t have to. Here’s my summary. Please tell your Senators to vote NO on this abomination: 202-224-3121. TY. 1/

In just a few moments, I will vote against the so-called SAVE America Act and I am a strong no. That's because this bill would place unnecessary burdens on millions of women and eligible citizens to register to vote and make their voices heard. It is un-American & undermines our democracy.

Even if you could invalidate one study, or even one meta study, the field of climate change is second only to the field of evolution in how much evidence there is, and how strongly it all supports the conclusions

We literally have more evidence for climate change than we do for gravity

As the US doubles down on fossil fuels and blocks wind & solar installations, its emissions are ticking up.

In contrast, China's emissions appear to have peaked. In the last 2 yrs, they installed more new solar energy each year than the U.S. has in its entire history.

More from @carbonbrief.org:
Analysis: China’s CO2 emissions have now been ‘flat or falling’ for 21 months - Carbon Brief
China’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions fell by 1% in the final quarter of 2025, likely securing a decline of 0.3% for the full year as a whole.

As I say here, there is no scientific justification to revoke the engagement finding. In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: that’s what’s on the line. @nature.org
There is No Scientific Justification to Revoke the Endangerment Finding
The U.S. EPA's decision to repeal the Endangerment Finding will limit the government's ability to regulate emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.
