This is a great piece that strikes exactly the right balance. It faults the BBC for a huge editorial error—but situates it within its proper context: Trump's coup.

To disregard either component, or to fail to properly assess their *relative* badness, is to fundamentally misunderstand the episode.
The BBC was guilty of sloppy editing. That's undeniable. But to make the BBC’s error the most salient aspect of this story is to play into Trump’s hands and do his bidding.

"What the BBC did was sloppy and misleading, yes, and there is no justification for it—but its conclusion is unmistakably true: Trump incited an insurrection against the government of the United States."

One of the White House’s most egregious lies yet. Messi is obviously the 🐐.

The Trump movement in a nutshell: an insurrection against the government of the United States, child sex abuse, bribery and corruption, illicit pardoning of wrongdoing, a perversion of the legal system, and Florida as a backdrop.

Two weeks after Tucker's scandalous interview with white supremacist, Jew-hating, misogynist “influencer” Nick Fuentes, the MAGA right is still grappling with the fallout—particularly after Heritage President Kevin Roberts defended Tucker and took a swipe at his “globalist” critics.

On the whole I haven’t been much surprised or disappointed by who went Rhinoceros during the Trump era, but I had sort of thought Mike Lee was at least a little smarter, more principled, and/or more decent than he’s proven himself to be.

As @tracinski.bsky.social and others noted a while back, it's not that Trump's appointments are unqualified—it's that they're *anti*-qualified. They're the antithesis of what their respective offices are about.

Like this is someone to appoint if you wanted the *opposite* of a fraud watcher.

By "affordable housing" Mamdani clearly meant "establish a caliphate." You may hate it, but this is top tier analysis from the ol' ball coach.

Will Mamdani Govern More as a Democratic Socialist or as an Abundance Liberal?
His policy evolution and the team he’s assembling suggest that he could be moving in a market-friendly direction
