I think if you grow up lonely and emotionally isolated, in a culture that teaches you guns are the solution to bad people
Then you find out you're not alone, someone really does love you
Then you see someone who is advocating harm against the person you love
Its not hard to see that mental leap

I really wish my mom hadn't taught me to play Texas Hold'em at like 8 years old at a competent level. I now feel obligated to say no when I'm invited to play because it feels wrong.

I never understood how someone, even the most queerphobic, could get upset at the term partner.
Even though girlfriend is fine, I still use the term partner because it feels *stronger*.
Like, do they just see their husband/wife as a nuisance? Are they not their partner for life?

My partner has landed on cricket as a nickname/pet name for me because whenever I get really happy/excited I tend to move my legs up and down, often rubbing them together, like a cricket. So now when I get excited it's just "Oh my little cricket 🥰"
