Tape out now.

Crackle. Organ hum. Rough beats & dub daze.
The bass blown-out and up front.
Everything echoes or covered in fuzz.
Nothing is clear.

One fragment of cut-up text remains... "artists bury night, wreck ears"

Goodbye old friend... bought for £400 in 2017, this was the laptop that I started making this Black Hilk Transmissions music on during lockdown

Upgraded memory, replaced battery twice, dropped 3 times...

Replaced by another £400 laptop just this week, onwards!

'Life Of The Record' podcst is great, lots of great eps (Minor Threat, Bill Callahan, Beat Happening) but I (obviously) loved this JAMC one very much...

Great stories all through it, some I've never heard before, William is hilarious...

The first band I loved ❤️

Brian Simpson.
I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

I wrote some words about a tremendous album that really just keeps getting better, even 30 years on.
Sonic Youth :: Washing Machine at 30

Three decades in, Washing Machine now feels like the most clear divide between the first and second halves of Sonic Youth’s career, an insightful Polaroid of the band at that fiery transitional moment.

this is awesome. both brothers interviewed. scottish accents. and guess what? they had no idea what they were doing when they recorded the album. magic.
For the 40th anniversary of @themarychain.bsky.social’s debut album, PSYCHOCANDY, we spoke with Jim Reid and William Reid about how it was made. Brothers changed by punk, discovering recording, a magical fuzz pedal and pop meets noise in the 1980s.

Four decades back a major label released a debut album that sounded like almost nothing on earth while still sounding incredibly familiar. Our man in San Francisco Ned Raggett takes stock of it all

Happy Birthday to the JAMC's Psychocandy, which turns 40 today!

#NowPlaying

*It was 40 years ago today..."

My musical year zero, I had Andy Gill's NME review of it on my bedroom wall.
My dad once played it when I was at school and when I got home he said it was great but something was up with my hi-fi as it was all distorted.
