An interesting (but logical) move by Apple: it reportedly plans to split its iPhone release cycle in half. So, September will likely be reserved for its Pro phones and a new foldable, while the lower-priced devices will come 6 months later.

I saw a reddit thread yesterday dissecting what appeared to be multiple shoddy AI images in Anno 117.

Such a bummer; I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve played so far, and I really don’t understand why Ubi cut such small corners in an otherwise slick game.

It’s very similar in Australia, too. There are a lot of great PR folks in Australia who fight hard internally to support small publications and creators.

However, they meet resistance from decision makers who want coverage in large commercial outlets above all else.
I've had this chat with PR people and they know that supporting smaller sites and freelancers makes sense and would help build a healthier games media.

The problem is game publishers pretty much exclusively want GI cover stories or an IGN First and anything smaller isn't worth it.
I don't understand this mentality as long as the person/website has reputable people. How does it hurt you to provide a code? With how hard it is to get publicity for games of all sizes even "small" coverage seems like it would only help?

When I read @joshtaylor.bsky.social's story on the misinformation driving laws in Google, I kind of got stuck in trying to work out how many sites were running the info.

Turns out it's a deep hole. Every day, it grows a little more. Here's how and why.

As the line gets even blurrier between creators, media personalities, and journalists, it is SO important to disclose anything and everything that could be seen as influencing your opinion.

I see so much of this in consumer tech, and the people I trust most are those who constantly disclose.
