I’m back after a 3 day suspension for sharing a link to publicly available police reports exposing Blood Tribe nazis. They also removed the post. Bluesky evidently prioritizes the protection of literal, active nazis over community safety. Unfortunately for BT, they’re already in the sunlight now :)

My photo shows a blue spherical bead in the form of a hedgehog curled up in a defensive ball displayed on a grey background. It is made of Egyptian faience, a ceramic material with a shiny blue glaze. The hedgehog’s face, ears, feet and tail are shown in relief, and the quills are represented by black dots painted over the surface of the bead. A hole for threading runs through the sphere - it can just be seen on the right hand side of the bead. The hedgehog’s long ears suggest this is a desert hedgehog. Desert hedgehogs may have symbolized rebirth because they reappear after hibernating underground in winter. Dated c.1985 - 1650 BC. On display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Nein, "ich will die Ukraine und alles und jeden darin auslöschen" ist offenkundig nicht das Ziel von Putins Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine. Russland will die Ukraine (oder mindestens Teile davon) erobern, und nimmt dabei Tod und Vernichtung von Menschenleben aktiv in kauf. Das ist etwas anderes.

Good listening to @dziblatt.bsky.social keynote at 30. Jahrestagung of @leibniz-gemeinschaft.de. He talks about how Germany (so far) largely avoided the USA's "democratic backslide". As one main factor he mentions the #Erinnerungskultur. (He uses the German word, otherwise his talk is in English.)

From 1999, it's a neat historical document of a moment where critical views of Thanksgiving were breaking through to the mainstream, but only enough to produce some cringe and a little offensiveness, IIRC.

judging the "readability" of 347K PhD abstracts written btw 1812 and 2023 based on Flesch test which measures word and sentence length & targets 4th grade is ridiculous and a collosal waste of time.
