As an anti-football-fan, I like watching the Superbowl because it's such a perfect snapshot of the country's highs and lows. You've got commercials selling the dregs of capitalism, the brain-destroying sport itself, and then a beautiful performance by a talented, usually non-white artist. That's 🇺🇲!

The Zygon Who Fell to Earth - A lovely tragedy that uses Zygons more interestingly than any other since their first appearance. Highlights: Zygon Lucy's "tell" being alien racism, and the Zygons' casual approach to gender. Finally, a short episode that makes the most of its runtime!

Pretty good Oscar lineup this year. My only gripes: No Other Choice should have a BP nom (what's F1 doing there??); I wish Wake Up Dead Man got a writing nod; and Jacob Elordi should be in best actor category (I understand why he's not, but I don't have to like it).

Grand Theft Cosmos - I'm noticing a theme this season around the value of artificially-created life. Especially after re-listening to the Shearman stories over Christmas, these stories feel too short to dig into the idea the way I'd like, but it at least seems to be leading somewhere.

Grand Theft Cosmos - I'm noticing a theme this season around the value of artificially-created life. Especially after re-listening to the Shearman stories over Christmas, these stories feel too short to dig into the idea the way I'd like, but it at least seems to be leading somewhere.

The Boy That Time Forgot - Boy, Adric just can't catch a break. Even in the timeline where he survives the crash, he becomes an insane old man with only bugs for company. I have a feeling the writer wasn't a fan. Still, nice to have a version where the Doctor saves him!
