The funniest thing about the Catherine Connolly smear campaign is that the establishment seems to be following Ivan Yates' advice, despite his impressive record of getting things spectacularly wrong, as highlighted on this old but evergreen tweet from @prayforpatrick.bsky.social

This is absolutely it. Watching Catherine Connolly it's clear that her morals and her character guide her choices, and she's happy to defend those choices rather than dodging and denying. It's incredibly refreshing for Irish politics actually.

This is one of my favorite stories (and there are many amazing stories) about Jane Goodall. When Gary Larson published the cartoon below her foundation began legal action against him, which she promptly stopped on her return from field research. They later sold T-shirts featuring the cartoon. ❤️

For clarity: I do not endorse violence, but I do endorse prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration. Anybody who's served their time and makes a legitimate effort to pursue their ideals legitimately and proactively should be empowered and applauded. Any other response is just ugly and hypocritical.
