A snippet of writing that takes place in the Heart Hollow universe. It reads: “Nice,” Zeke says, and he’s secretly relieved, because he wants to spend tonight cooped up in his suite watching the snowfall from his private patio. For now, Zeke’s eyes find themselves fixated on the manager by his side. He’s seen gray and bleak every winter for nineteen years, but he’s only been enjoying ginger and freckled since this summer. Until the snow hits, he doesn’t mind looking Lewis’ way. When they meet eyes, Lewis’ smile widens with genuine warmth. Zeke just admires his pale lashes, and his cheeks that are dusted with freckles, and his baby pink lips. Because he’s fighting the urge to finally just kiss him, Zeke says, “you know… I’ve never seen snow before.” Lewis’ brow raises with innocent surprise, “never?” “Never,” Zeke smiles solely because of his reaction. “Oh, Zeke,” Lewis gasps quietly, “you’re in for a treat.” “I am, am I?” “You are, truly. Just you wait.” “I’m tired of waiting though,” Zeke sighs. Although he’s referring to the impending snow, he actually means this in more ways than one.

📋 Lewis finds something to do that isn't yearning lol.... paperwork, light workouts, cleaning, organizing, etc. he keeps himself BUSY. (see image for a good tell of his character)

A snippet from Heart Hollow Chapter 7 that reads: Lewis chuckles, “hah, well. Not quite. I - ah. Well, I couldn’t get back to sleep this morning, so I figured… Might as well come in early to get some work done,” he says, and as he pulls his mug out from under the machine’s spout, he adds, “it’s not like I have much of anything else going on, anyways.” This last statement catches Zeke off guard. He peers up towards Lewis as he dances around the kitchen to gather supplies for his coffee. Zeke isn’t sure if he can necessarily pry about that, but it sounds like Lewis admitted to having nothing else going for him other than this dingy old Hotel. So, Zeke just says, “if not anything else, you’re great at finding things to do around here, that’s for sure.” Lewis huffs in amusement as he pours some oat milk creamer into his cup of coffee. All he says is, “well, you know what they say about idle hands.”
